The Danscompany of Gainesville, Inc.

The Dancenter has in residence a non-profit performing group call “The Danscompany.” The company was formed in November 1983 to offer opportunities of performance to Gainesville area dancers.  The company consists of ballet, jazz, hiphop, contemporary and tap groups, featuring adult, youth, and children.

Membership is secured through competitive audition.  Nina Cameron is the founding Artistic Director of The Danscompany. Linda Thomas serves at the Artistic Director of The Danscompany’s Chrysalis wing. 

The company has a mission to serve the local community by sharing their passion for dance. You can find the company performing at art festivals, area schools and businesses throughout the year. As well as, on the UF Phillips Center main stage for two major productions a year.
